The Interreg IPA program of the Southern Adriatic: Proeksport Albania Association, organizes the AMTECH cross-border cooperation project conference “Workshop on additive and advanced production technologies and digitization of production in the IPA area”.

The initiative aims to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in the development of more sustainable and suitable products by introducing innovative technologies of Additive Manufacturing, even in traditional sectors.

The event will be held on November 26, 2024 at Tirana International Hotel – Consorcium, located at Sheshi Skënderbej 8, Tirana 1001.

Albania is taking an important step towards the future of industrial technology with the launch of the AMTECH Program, an innovative initiative that aims to promote the adoption of Additive Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, among Albanian businesses and beyond. The program is designed to accelerate innovation, increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and position Albania as a leader in the fast-growing global manufacturing sector.

A growth opportunity with additive manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, are revolutionizing industrial production by enabling businesses to reduce costs, improve product quality and increase production flexibility. The AMTECH program focuses on integrating these advanced technologies into the industrial landscape of Albania, Italy and Montenegro, providing technical support, training and access to advanced resources for local businesses.

The AMTECH program is not only designed to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in the IPA area, but also to promote a more sustainable economic model. By enabling the local production of complex components without the need for long supply chains or imports, companies can reduce their carbon footprints by improving their manufacturing processes.

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation of Albania Mr. Blendi Gonxhja commented:

The workshop in Albania thanks to the AMTECH program will offer training courses for entrepreneurs, engineers, technicians and students, aiming to foster a culture of innovation and technological advancement throughout Albania. In the near future, the program will introduce incentives for companies willing to invest directly in 3D printing technologies, while networking events and international collaborations will highlight the latest developments in the Additive Manufacturing sector.
